There has been movement in university interest. How bad can my idea be? If a professor has given it to his engineering students,
doesn't that show that the idea is at least accepted as having possibilities? In this link you'll find his words, in my wiki! This isn't the end of my search, it's only the beginning! My idea may finally become reality through young thinkers, but there are more ideas out there. If you find interest in a small, yet possibly magnificent change, contact me here. My project is still open, looking for young thinkers. Your idea matters! If you're searching for a school project, I believe you'll find it perfect, simple yet effective automation of a garden to allow near hands free gardening. I believe you'll find the simplicity of each individual task, what makes this interesting. In it's entirety it will feed the masses cheaply and efficiently, but the beauty is that the many steps could be answered by children. I want to prove it! Are you in school and want a science project that could really make a difference? If we eliminate hunger from the world, we will also reduce, if not eliminate poverty. Easy, efficient, inexpensive, abundant vegetables could be the answer and you hold a piece of the solution inside you.. If ever you've been brave, now is the time! The question of top priority within my project is: How do I create pressure on the water hose at the plant, in a way that the water flow can be monitored and regulated by a computer? Design it for efficiency and cost reduction while eliminating vulnerability to dirt and water, to solve food production dilemmas in times of drought. My own idea is a simple stepper motor, but maybe there are better ways, man made muscle tissue maybe! I beg you to think about this! Take the challenge and join us in the search for answers. Most importantly, talk about it! Let others give you their opinions, be a team player. The solution is within reach, it's just waiting for you.

To make the Global Goals a reality. In September 2015 World Leaders committed to the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
17 goals to achieve 3 extraordinary things in the next 15 years. End extreme poverty. Fight inequality and injustice. Fix climate change. To realise these Goals everyone, however young they are, needs to take part. So join our movement today! Please watch this video to see how others have helped. My simple garden on steroids. It's clear to me that this doesn't represent the cheapest of all possible gardens,
on the other hand it's so simple, so foolproof yet so expandable that it's worth a try. Here's an example of how my simple garden could be multiplied into 24 all running simultaneously using only gravity, rainwater, hoses and drippers and controlled by a simple PC. Water use is held to a minimum, making the garden drought resistant! If each patch holds 30 plants, that's a total of 720 plants. Build one of these in an area where work is scarce, but sun abundant and you have the solution to many problems, inexpensively and efficiently. Add a Soup Kitchen where the produce is directly turned into meals and: Which problems would be solved? The irrigation is automated, but manpower is needed to plant and tend the garden! Vitamin rich vegetables are now abundant, reducing malnutrition! People who spend their days trying to scratch an existence together can do something productive! Children can go to school, rather than working to support the family! Crime is reduced by allowing all to eat equally, enabling all to work! Last, but certainly not least, immigrants stay home, because there's no place like home! These goals are all simple to reach and require little more than your support. Your solidarity payment, when multiplied by many people could fund it and the cost of $1.00 per month would hurt no one, but change the world!!!! The club needs you and your ideas, join us today! Find your topic in the following text.My project allows me to ignore my garden for weeks at a time, but that time is limited.
The limit came through the finest particles of dirt, which even after filtering clogged the drippers. This project doesn't change the basic irrigation method, it remains gravity fed, but it's now monitored and adjusted by an inexpensive computer. The idea is simple! A micro step motor taken from a discarded CD drive puts pressure on the hose, blocking the flow of water to allow only individual drops to fall. 2 open wires held below the hose end create a short circuit with each drop, this short can be counted by the PC and used to limit the drops per hour. A moisture sensor built into the ground stake holding everything above ground measures the effectiveness of water penetration, the PC uses this info to base it's drip frequency on. Add a regular maintenance schedule which tells the motor to open and directly close at regular intervals to wash dirt deposits out and it becomes maintenance free. Costs can be minimized through 3d printing and the use of discarded motors. Rather than only a stake, a printed top could be added to keep moisture away from working parts and/or hold a solar panel. Through the use of an IoT module cost is increased, but cabling is eliminated. Tomorrow I'll discuss the advantages of this project and how I would implement it. If my idea interests you or you have questions, please contact me, feel free to forward a link to a friend. The club is interested in your ideas, join us today! Today I ask for your help.Since no one has taken an interest in the club or in creating a project, I'm going to begin explaining my project in the hopes of finding people interested in making it real.
I've introduced my WIKI before and in various blog posts I've named specific skills which, if I could find interested people to assist, would help me reach my goal. What exactly is my goal? I've demonstrated that using an off the shelf drip irrigation system (designed for faucet), attached to a barrel of water which sits above ground, I can use rain water to automate the watering of my garden of approximately 30 plants for 4 weeks before maintenance is needed. The next step is to completely automate the garden to allow complete hands free irrigation, using only rain water. Additionally, I want to prove that this can be accomplished at little cost, my target is under $1.00 per plant. This system has almost no movable parts, so little wear and is designed to be so simple that even a child can use it. If this system really could be produced for that price it could go far in producing healthy vegetables for people who today are starving. I admit it's not THE solution, but it's meant to get you involved in the search for solutions. If that all seems to be too good to be true I ask you to bear with me! Here's a diagram of the system and all info can be found on my wiki page, but in my next posts I'll explain the simplicity and describe where help is needed. This project is completely in the public domain free to be used, copied and improved upon by anyone. The only stipulation is that no money is made through it's use! Any profit should be used to reach the goal of Zero Hunger by 2030 and the other 16 SDGs. Again the University of Maryland is my teacher. The words of Fredrick Douglas ring as true today as they did in his time.
Our politicians today should take a lesson from his words. He proved that the color of a mans skin is not a measure of his intelligence. I hope I never forget: "I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong." This is the club! The signs all say yes, but it lies in your hands. When I say signs, I literally mean signs!
Today I visited the University of Maryland and found a collection of masterpieces. The signs told me that UoM is on track with my way of thinking, I hope they can understand my fearless ideas. The club needs young minds, open to the possibilities of change. What's so wrong about eliminating hunger and poverty from the face of the earth? Are women and people of color really less human than anyone else? Do blue lives mean more than black, red or any other color? Do you consider yourself human? If so, the club asks you to prove it. Be the change you want! If you wait for someone else to do it nothing will ever change. The world needs you, the club needs you! There's no need to apply, there is no application form or initiation. The club is about you! We're about doing what's right, just because it's right! Please join my team, humanity needs it bad! |
