I've been thinking for days about how this could fit into my plan. I want to talk about it here!
If we could collect plastic littering the streets of our cities and roads, then have it recycled very cheaply and made into the things we need, we wouldn't need the plastic from the oceans. I'm certain that if we paid poor people for plastic, we'd slow the flow to the oceans and have an inexpensive (theoretically) raw material while beautifying our countries. This could be managed by the club together with existing help groups in these areas. As we gain experience we can use our expertise to help all over the world. It's ugly and it's just waiting for a new owner!

I find this a great example of how the goals can be reached. It's time to stop killing our planet and time to start looking for solutions. This is the type of thing I'm creating a WIKI to document. This is a brilliant demonstration of the theory I used in my garden in 2014. The only real differences are 1) that my filter is the last step before the drippers and 2) my water is stored underground, then pumped to an above ground tank for the gravity feed and 3) my drippers come from a different manufacturer, so look different. You'll see mine in spring!
Thank you for this video! I hope you don't mind if I use it in the WIKI once it's set up. Today I want to show you a video. I've talked about my plan of creating drip irrigation gardens with kids, well here's finally a video about how simple it is. I so thank these hard working people who have already created videos which show you how it works.
I'll begin with my heroes, please watch it and you'll see that what I proposing is already being done, but the scale is too small. We need to do this multiplied by 50! Rooted in Hope! AIDS isn't just about sickness! It's invisible, it slips up on you when you least expect it. Worst of all, it doesn't ever go away. The poor can't go to a doctor for medicine, they often suffer along with their families until it takes them to their grave. We can not allow this to go on! We are allowing our oceans to be sterilized! In our continual search for ever cheaper food, we've learned to ignore the fact that the bottom of the ocean is being systematically destroyed and will take years to rejuvenate. The question is, how can it make a comeback when we don't stop scraping it?
Something MUST be done! One in every nine people on our planet go to bed hungry each night. Can you imagine that?
Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. A cure must be found! Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five – 3.1 million children each year. I can't put up with this situation any longer and have decided to change the world. More facts here! How can the poor ever pull themselves out of poverty if we don't provide them with education? Many groups try, but it's not reaching all levels in equal quantities. A starving family is more worried about food than they are about thoughts of their childrens education.
The gap! How can we ignore this fact? Actually, there are so many that no one can really say, but this will give you some numbers to think about. Don't they deserve our help?
If we could provide work for the homeless they would be able to have a home. This goal must be high on our list! Cruelty can take so many different forms! It amazes me that customs which were formed hundreds or thousands of years ago are still practiced today. Most amazing is how many different forms of torture are accepted today and "normal".
Please look at this link, and ask yourself if this is acceptable. We don't even treat our animals like this, yet it goes on on our planet today. What would you do if you were granted 3 wishes? How to decide, oh, there are so many things a person could wish for, so many. How to decide on only 1, 2 and 3?
How to decide where, each of us is free to choose, but how to do the right thing? There are so many material things, fun things, crazy things and must haves that it's easy to lose track of the important things. I wish you all luck with deciding, whoops, there's my first! Nearly half the population of the world survive on less than $2.00 per day and 20% of all of mankind survive on less than $1.00 per day. How much money does one day in your life cost? Try to spend 1 week on even $2.00 per day, it's not easy.
http://www.un.org/en/globalissues/briefingpapers/food/vitalstats.shtml This must change! 1 Goal - I dream of a cure to hunger on earth. No other sickness is as debilitating as genuine hunger. Did you know that approximately 21,000 people die of hunger every single day? Have you ever gone 1 day without food, it's really not pleasant and not something I would wish for anyone.
You have the power to change it! Please visit http://www.poverty.com/ for more info! |
