When I heard the news this morning about the latest polling results in the US, I came to the conclusion that although I had determined to stay politicaly neutral, I just can't ignore the ugly facts that are our world. A movie from my past made an impression on my mind and I feel it has the same message today as it did then. The movie was "Brewster's Millions" with the unlikely lead actor, Richard Pryor.
He, unlike todays candidates, ran for election as "None of the Above" and though it was a comedy, the message for today is very relevant. The last thing I want is to give the vote to the rich guy who could turn the US into your worst nightmare, but I believe many are voting for him only because the alternative turns their stomach and could use this as a real alternative. Please don't take this as a political statement, see it as my fear of the possible consequences of the election going in the wrong direction. I fear that hunger, human rights and global warming will all take a back burner so the rich can get an even bigger piece of the pie. Please excuse my comments, I'll try to stick to my issues from now on. Think about it!
